Always Stay Within Product Guidelines

With all mobility and disability products it is essential to choose products that are suitable to ensure that the user's weight is comfortably within the weight limits specified by the manufacturers. This is particularly important when you are choosing products to support a heavier user. Warranties are based on users being within those limits and product safety, performance and longevity will depend on the kind of wear and tear that the equipment receives. Don't try and cut corners - make sure you take advice and go for the right specification of product and do get advice from your local Occupational Therapist.

Many products are available on this site , care should be taken when purchasing products that are mechanically and electrically powered for example electric wheelchairs, scooters, beds and riser and recliner chairs. Make sure that the products be serviced at least once per year from where you have purchased them from. This gives you piece of mind that you wont be left stuck down a country road on your scooter , or stuck reclined in your bed !

Armchairs and Motion Chairs:
Make sure you have been measured before you make a purchase. You need to know what seat height , seat depth and width.

Adjustable beds:
The key factors are 1) Divan/Base height , make sure you can sit on the side of the beds and your feet touch the floor ! 2) Mattress, you need to test reflex foam memory foam, pocket, pocket/memory etc.

Wheelchairs:
Again is required to get the correct seat height and width. On wheelchairs the leg rests can be adjusted for height , but seat width and back height is important.

Footwear and Footcare:
Cosyfeet shoes are designed for feet that can't fit into ordinary footwear. They are extra wide and extra deep so they're very roomy.

All our women's styles are made with an extra wide fitting of approximately 5E+. But don't worry if you don't know your width size as many of our styles are adjustable. This means they're flexible enough to fit feet that swell up during the day or if one foot is more swollen than the other.

Unlike many other brands of wide fitting footwear, Cosyfeet shoes also benefit from extra depth which means they're particularly good at fitting problem toes and bunions or feet that are very swollen. To put it simply, all of our shoes have been designed to be roomy enough to comfortably fit a variety of foot problems and conditions. Some styles are more suitable for specific conditions than others - please see suitability for foot condition below or ring our customer advice line on 01722 417221 if you'd like more help.
